So this was the last leg of our 5H trip – Hà Nội and Halong Bay. We were excited but a bit tired at this point.
We took train to Hà Nội from Hue but we didn’t book Our train tickets prior so we ended up not getting the sleeper train. Sitting in a train for long hours was not fun. What a mistake!
We travelled 18 hours in total. I couldn’t believe it took us that long gosh. The view was great but because of these metal thing blocking it, we couldn’t get a decent photo.
The last few days in HCM, Hoi An and Hue were amazing except for the bad experiences we had when it comes to the scammers. Because of that on the way to Hà Nội, we were a bit paranoid. The guys sitting at our back we’re acting funny so we thought they gonna rob us or something but Thanks God we reached without any incident.
We reached rainy Hanoi around 11am we left Hue around 7pm the other night. It was fun but I will not do it again! Haha.
It was raining hard and there’s flooding outside so we took our brunch in this fast food called LOTTE. It’s nice and cheap.
We checked in to our hotel about 2pm and again the hotel we checked in says there’s no room available so they bring us to other hotels where in they said it’s a sister company but we doubt. I read that this is one of scam in Vietnam. Again yes. The Hotel they brought us has no lift and so old. And the other story was there’s a Ghost there! Oh my. Our toilet flashes on its own two times that night and things are moving by itself.
Well believe it or not but we ask for transfer of room the next day and they transfer us to higher part of the building and it was ok. Enough of Dramas! from scammers to ghost you name it Vietnam has it!
With all these things happened, it didn’t stop us from having a great time as most of the people there a nice and the food is great. Besides, Vietnam has so much more to offer!! Note to self just be careful next time.
This chapel was walking distance from our hotel. It’s called the St. Joseph Cathedral. This Neo-gothic style church was build in 19th century and a place for worship by almost 4 million Catholics in Vietnam.
HALONG BAY On our 7th day and our anniversary . As early as 7am we were picked up in our hotel by our tour guide for our Halong day yay! It’s our first year anniversary so it’s a memorable day! Took us four hours to travel by van to Halong Bay.
Us in our mini van.
It was Comfortable and nice English speaking tour guide. The tour cost us around 100 sgd per person for whole day includes everything.
So as expected, as part of the tour package they brought us here in a big souvenir shop before reaching Halong Bay.
It’s around 11am when we reached the Bay and It’s already packed by tourist!!!
Here’s a picture of a lady in her boat selling fruits to the tourist.
So here we go! It was drizzling!
It was a gloomy day so no nice clouds and blue skies but I liked it as it’s not so hot and humid!
I was surprised when I realized that there’s actually a community living here in these waters. Basically houses were built in a boat. There’s school, bank, stores you name it. It can be very inconvenient and limited but a part of me was envious to those who are living here. Fresh air , sea food, and fantastic view what else do you need ?:)
It was really beautiful here. The only regret I have was not booking overnight .
Our yummy Lunch in the Ferry boat. We make friends with few tourist in our table. Too bad we have no photos with them. Met Alena from England who was a solo Traveller and two gentlemen from Italy. It was awesome to get to know them.
We went to this magnificent cave . It’s a bit unnatural as they put a lot of coloured lights. Made me feel like I’m in a theatre with lots of fake props around. It’s beautiful never the less.
So this will be the view after coming out of the cave.
After reaching Hà Nội around 9pm, we still manage to went out and celebrate. Happy anniversary to us!
Last day in Vietnam.

•Manage to visit Ho Chi Minh preserved body . No photographs allowed obviously.

Went to halong bay Met up with friends in a nice chill bar and eat local food.
What do I love about Hanoi? It’s the little boutiques shops that are so artsy and pretty.
