I’ve been wanting to write about gratitude for a long time now. I believe this virtue is so important and so effective in making our lives lighter, more joyful and meaningful yet it is so hard to practice how much more mastered.
I love travelling, who don’t right? Nowadays it seems like everyone if given the opportunity loves to travel. Thanks to budget airlines, sharing economy (e.g Airbnb, Uber), internet resources that give tips and inspiration about budget travels (trip advisory), most people (no longer just the rich) now has a chance to explore and that is great!
In saying these, I will try my best to blog mostly about gratitude and travels. I believe that being grateful in ordinary things in our lives is powerful and necesssry but Gratefulness as we travel and see Gods creation around us is also important.
Often I see myself busy checking my list of things to do or things to see in my long awaited holiday, and I forgot to put in my schedule the sacred time of just pausing and appreaciting God and his creation. I often miss to make sure I am really present emotionally and not just taking good photos for the sake of instagram and the like. I know you know what I mean.
By writing my gratefulness journey as a wife, young mom, friend, daughter and just ordinary human being, I believe it will help me to process this learnings and experiences (good or bad) more and will hopefully and prayerfully result to my growth as a person of gratitude.
I believe just like the places I have visited and will be visiting, I don’t live there I’m not a citizen of that country. In this life, I am too is just a traveller a tourist that is just passing thru. But with a purpose.
We are just traveller in this world. Are we grateful to pass by? Do we appreciate and enjoy the things we see and experience? Are we thankful for our fellow travellers who makes our journey not just easier but enjoyable?
Most importantly where is our destination and why we are here ?
By writing and blogging about me trying to be grateful, I hope I can help my fellow travellers to cultivate a life of gratitude along the way.
They said there is no real joy without gratitude.
So I will choose to live my life joyfully by trying to lessen complaints, nagging (my husband will love this) and negativity instead increase gratitude.
As one of my favourite verses in the bible said;
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV
